Bach, Graupner, Telemann - Three Competitors for the Thomaskantor‘s Spot

As one of the pre-eminent lyric tenors of our time, Christoph Prégardien has worked with conductors such as Barenboim, Chailly, Gardiner, Harnoncourt, Herreweghe, Luisi, Metzmacher, Nagano, Sawallisch, and Thielemann.

Among his repertoire, he counts the great oratorios and passions from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras, but also works from the 17th and 20th centuries.  Furthermore, Prégardien is held in high regard as a lieder singer, making frequent appearances at lieder soirées in Paris, London, Bruxelles, Berlin, Cologne, Amsterdam, Salzburg, Zurich, Vienna, Barcelona and Geneva, as well as concert tours through Italy, Japan and North America.

Oftentimes, Christoph Prégardien is engaged as a guest soloist by distinguished orchestras. He has performed with the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonics, the Concertgebouworkest Amsterdam, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Philharmonia Orchestra in London and the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, among others. A substantial part of his repertoire has been recorded by the eminent record labels, his discography having now grown to more than 130 titles.
