l’arte del mondo

Orchestra in Residence

Since the 2010/11 season, l’arte del mondo has been the permanent orchestra in residence at Bayer Kultur and has thus been a guest every year with large and small concert formats, opera productions, cross-genre and intercultural projects. The highlights of this collaboration were certainly the sensationally danced “St Matthew Passion-2727” with the Israeli Kamea Dance Company, “Orfeo 2.0 - A BaRock Opera” – Monteverdi’s key work reimagined – or the popular “Conductors’ Duel” for children. Bayer Arts & Culture also provides l’arte del mondo with rooms for rehearsals and CD recordings.

Bayer AG has been involved in cultural activities since 1907, and in 1908 added its own theatre and concert hall in Leverkusen with the Erholungshaus. Originally founded to improve the quality of life of employees, the culture department (Bayer Kultur) has since developed its own profile and invites culture enthusiasts to events at the Bayer sites in Leverkusen, Wuppertal, Berlin and Bitterfeld as part of the “stARTfestival”. Offers for children and young people (frühstART), theatre education workshops and the stARTacademy support programme round off the programme.
